FIND THE RIGHT GRANT FOR YOU

While the goals of Paralyzed Veterans of America's Research Foundation and Education Foundation are similar in some respects it is important to understand their differences when considering the grant application process.  Submitting a grant proposal to the correct Foundation is critical to avoid unnecessary delays in the funding consideration process.

RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Paralyzed Veterans Research Foundation is focused on funding projects that are grounded in basic laboratory science and the education of scientists working on breakthroughs directed toward a cure for paralysis or the secondary medical conditions, and technologies associated with spinal cord injury or disease (SCI/D).  These projects should be designed to find better treatments and cures for paralysis, to support efforts to improve the quality of life of individuals with SCI/D until improved clinical treatments, technologies or cures are discovered, and to train post-doctoral fellow investigators and encourage them to specialize in the area of spinal cord research.  (NOTE: Before submitting a grant application, please carefully read the Research Foundation's Policies and Procedures (PDF) document.)

EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Paralyzed Veterans Education Foundation is focused on funding educational projects that benefit and serve individuals with SCI/D, their families and caregivers.  The Education Foundation has five topic categories for funding consideration which are: Consumer, Caregiver, and Community Education; Professional Development and Education; Research Utilization and Dissemination; Assistive Technology; and Conferences and Symposia.  These projects should be designed to improve the quality of life for individuals with SCI/D, educate consumers about the consequences of and complications associated with SCI/D, improve the knowledge and skills of SCI/D health care professionals and to prevent the occurrence and complications of new SCI/D.  (NOTE: Before submitting a grant application, please carefully read the Education Foundation's Policies and Procedures (PDF) document.)
