MARCH 2025 |  ISSUE #35 |  PVA SUPPORTER EDITION

MEET Shayna, U.S. Army VETERAN

Shayna G.’s journey with multiple sclerosis (MS) began unexpectedly during a routine run, leading to years of medical uncertainty before finally receiving a diagnosis. Since then, she has found both support and purpose through Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), which helped her navigate her VA benefits and provided a strong sense of community.

Now, as a dedicated PVA board member of PVA’s Great Plains Chapter, Shayna is committed to ensuring all Veterans—especially women and those with MS—have the resources and representation they deserve.

Through donor generosity, PVA provides vital resources, benefits assistance, and programs that empower Veterans like Shayna to live full and independent lives.

PVA NATIONAL PRESIDENT TESTIFIES BEFORE CONGRESS ON SCI/D CARE

Following PVA National President Robert Thomas’ annual congressional testimony on March 4th, we remain committed to advocating for increased support of the VA’s Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders (SCI/D) system.

With staffing shortages and infrastructure challenges affecting the quality of care, PVA continues to push for change.

Sign the petition to express your support for quality SCI/D care.

PVA's Scholarship Empowers MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES

PVA is proud to offer funds to PVA members and their immediate family members through our Educational Scholarship Program.

With the 2025 scholarship application now open, scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 to full-time students and $1,000 to part-time students.

Through this scholarship, we help remove financial barriers, allowing students to fully pursue their dreams and reach their highest potential.

RARE 5X MATCH IS HAPPENING NOW!

Right now, your gift to empower paralyzed and disabled Veterans will go FIVE times further—helping fund life-changing support, push access forward for all disabled Americans, and so much more.

Thanks to your generous support, PVA has made great strides in improving the lives of individuals with spinal cord injuries. From accessible home designs to vital resources, your contributions have had a direct impact. But the work is far from over—disabled Veterans face new challenges daily, and your continued support is crucial in helping us address them.

How else can you help? Sign up to volunteer at this year's National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Minneapolis from July 17-22.
