PVA supports women veterans by providing tailored support, advocacy, and
community-building opportunities to ensure they feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Women veterans are the fastest growing veteran population, yet many feel isolated from the greater veteran population and each other.

PVA’s goal is to close this gap and help them thrive.

Women Veterans Empowerment Retreat

Since 2018, the Women Veterans Empowerment Retreat (WVER), has empowered more than 350 women veterans through immersive leadership development, advocacy training, and holistic wellness programming.

Each retreat brings together up to 50 women veterans from across the country for a transformative, all-expenses-paid experience.

PVA’s First Woman Member

The story of PVA’s first woman member dates back to its first meeting in 1946, with the arrival of its first female veteran member, Anita Bloom (affectionately known as “Nita”).

Nita fought to ensure women veterans’ healthcare needs were properly met. We’re continuing her legacy through the Anita Bloom Committee, a member-run committee that provides resources, knowledge, and services that directly benefit the women veterans of PVA

Chill N’ Chats

Chill N’ Chats are monthly, informal, virtual social gatherings for women members to foster connection and serve as a meeting point to discuss important topics for women veterans.
