FEBRUARY 2025 |  ISSUE #34 |  PVA SUPPORTER EDITION

MEET ED, U.S. Air Force VETERAN

After 15 years of service in the Air Force, a serious accident turned Ed’s life upside down. Now paralyzed and without use of his arms, Ed requires expensive caregiving assistance at all times of day.

The recent passage of the Senator Elizabeth Dole Act means Veterans like Ed will finally get the financial support they need to cover their caregiving costs. We are proud to have pushed for this meaningful law, that will change the lives of Veterans like Ed.

A man in a wheelchair, wearing a gray shirt and denim shorts, waits in an airport line with other travelers. He has a silver suitcase and a backpack. People are engaged with their devices and luggage around him. Blue ropes guide the queue.

PVA’s Advocacy GOALS in 2025

With a new Congress in session, PVA is ready to push for the issues that matter most to our community. Your support can help us advocate for PVA’s Policy Priorities and ensure we continue to make a difference in the lives of Veterans with disabilities.

HELP Protect VA HEALTHCARE

A caregiver in a blue uniform assists an elderly man in a wheelchair. They are in a well-lit room with a kitchen in the background. The caregiver is smiling while holding the man's hand, and he looks up at her appreciatively.

The VA is the best provider of care for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), but cracks are beginning to show in the system. With too few staff and infrastructure issues, veterans' care is at risk. We must protect this vital system.

Sign the petition to make your voice heard when PVA President Robert Thomas testifies about this issue before Congress this spring.
