Paralyzed Veterans of America recognizes students with educational scholarship awards

WASHINGTON, DC (September 06, 2018) — Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is thrilled to recognize 11 exceptional college students who will receive financial assistance through the organization’s prestigious Educational Scholarship Program.
Established in 1986, PVA’s Educational Scholarship Program helps its members, and members of their immediate families, gain postsecondary education from accredited colleges and universities across the country.
The program will provide a $500 scholarship to each qualified part-time student, and a $1,000 scholarship to each qualified full-time student, with a total amount of $10,000 in funding.
The 2018-2019 educational scholarship award winners are:
- Gaetano Barnes, III, Cal-Diego Chapter (University of Arizona – Tucson)
- Kaylea Bixler, Mid-America Chapter (Oklahoma State University – Stillwater)
- Steven Bryant, Southeastern Chapter (Jacksonville State University)
- Tracey Cooper-Harris, California Chapter (Clemson University)
- Savannah Glaves, Gateway Chapter (University of Kansas)
- Rebekah Kemper, West Virginia Chapter (Liberty University)
- Aaron Kilgore, Gateway Chapter (University of Missouri – Columbia)
- Heidee Luiz, Florida Chapter (State College of Florida)
- Kacie Pou, Cal-Diego Chapter (University of Louisiana – Lafayette)
- Nicole Severn, Michigan Chapter (Michigan State University)
- Carissa Specking, Mid-South Chapter (Arkansas State University)
“For over 30 years, PVA has been helping its members and their families further their education through our scholarship program,” said PVA National President David Zurfluh. “We are extremely proud to provide financial support to college students so they can achieve their career goals and improve their quality of life.”
Scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 academic school year will be available in April – June 2019 at www.pva.org/membership/scholarship-program.
